About McDougall Holiday Rentals
It started with one holiday let
I’m Peter McDougall. I set up my first holiday let in Fife and ran every part of it myself. Other owners saw how it was run and asked me to look after theirs, and that’s how McDougall Holiday Rentals began.
From owner to agent
With my first property I did everything: the listings, the pricing, the guest messages, the cleaning and the laundry. It taught me what guests notice, what owners worry about, and how much work goes into every single changeover.
Before long, other owners started asking if I could look after their homes too. One property became a few, and a few became a business. Today I manage holiday homes for owners across Fife, with my own team of housekeepers and laundry staff behind every stay.
It’s still my name on the door and my number on the phone. Guests and owners deal with me directly, and I know every property I look after.

I’ve been a holiday let owner myself, so I look after every home as if it were mine, and I understand the numbers from the owner’s side.
My own housekeeping and laundry
Cleaning is done by staff I employ and train, and bed linen and towels are washed in our own laundry and provided as part of the service. Standards don’t depend on whichever contractor is free that day.
One person accountable
No call centre and no account managers. If something needs sorting, you speak to the person who runs the business.
