About Fife
Fife is a region of remarkable variety, all contained within 1,325 square kilometres on the east coast of Scotland. The ‘Kingdom of Fife’ is famous for its colourful fishing villages, glorious beaches and coastline, and St Andrews – the home of golf.
There’s much more to enjoy though. With its rich culture, history and heritage, outdoor activities, leisure pursuits, delicious local food and drink and welcoming accommodation, you’ll want to come back to Fife again and again.
Castles, palaces, museums and galleries are found in abundance in Fife. Scattered throughout the region, each is unique in its own way. Some hold royal connections, like the abbey in Dunfermline, others look back at the region’s industries like the Scottish Fisheries Museum, and some remember Fife’s key pioneers like Andrew Carnegie and Adam Smith.
Outlander fans will be impressed by the number of filming locations which can be explored across Fife, including the historic sites of Aberdour Castle and Culross.
